The History and Legacy of Tattooing
Tattooing has evolved significantly over the past few decades, transforming from a marginal and, at times, illegal practice into a celebrated art form that has left an indelible mark on contemporary culture and collective imagination.

Mark Mahoney – A legendary figure in the tattoo world, Mark Mahoney is the owner of Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood. He has been at the forefront of the tattoo scene, known for his distinct black-and-grey single-needle style, and has tattooed numerous high-profile clients.
Kari Barba – Owner of Outer Limits in Long Beach, Kari Barba is a trailblazer for female tattoo artists. With over 40 years of experience, she is celebrated for her versatility and mastery in various tattoo styles, making her a highly respected figure in the industry.
Junko Shimada – Junko Shimada operates the Diamond Club Tattoo Parlor in San Francisco. She is renowned for her intricate and vibrant Japanese-style tattoos, which have garnered her a dedicated following and immense respect within the global tattoo community.
Filip Leu
Filip Leu hails from a family of tattoo artists and runs The Leu Family’s Family Iron in Lausanne. Known for his exceptional skill and creativity, his work often features elaborate designs that blend traditional and contemporary elements, making him a sought-after artist worldwide.
Luke Atkinson – Based in Stuttgart, Luke Atkinson is the proprietor of Checker Demon Tattoos. With decades of experience, he is known for his detailed and bold tattoos, as well as his commitment to the craft and the tattooing community.

Maître-Horiyoshi-III-MONDIAL-TATTOUAG Horiyoshi III: A legend in Japanese tattoo art, Horiyoshi III is famous for his traditional tebori (hand-poking) technique. His work often involves large, detailed body suits featuring mythological themes and elaborate designs.
Mr. Cartoon (Mark Machado)
Known for his distinct Chicano style, Mister Cartoon has tattooed many celebrities. His work typically features black-and-grey fine line designs with Mexican-American cultural elements, such as lowriders, clowns, and religious imagery.
Whang-od Oggay
The oldest traditional mambabatok (hand-tap) tattoo artist from the Philippines, Whang-od uses tribal techniques passed down through generations. Her work is deeply rooted in Kalingan culture and consists of geometric patterns and motifs drawn from nature.

This year, Carcass, Rotten Sound and Brujeria will be in concert on Saturday for an evening of metal! The night before, Frustration and Bracco take to the stage for an evening orchestrated by Born Bad Records.

The Tattoo competitions
Several competitions will be held throughout the weekend. Dozens of tattooed contestants will take to the stage set up for the occasion to try and win one of the trophies.
This is your chance to discover the best small piece, the best torso or back or the best full body.
On the jury this year are Mark Mahoney (Shamrock Social Club, Hollywood), Kari Barba (Outer Limits, Long Beach), Junko Shimada (Diamond Club Tattoo Parlor, San Francisco), Filip Leu (The Leu Family’s Family Iron, Lausanne) and Luke Atkinson (Checker Demon Tattoos, Stuttgart).

How to get Tattoo during the Mondiale Tatouage ?
WITH OR WITHOUT APPOINTMENT ?
Find out more about the artists attending the convention on our website and social networks. You’ll find their contacts there. Feel free to send them a message directly to discuss your projects and find out about their availability during the convention.
There will also be artists available on the day of the convention, so there’s no need to make an appointment in advance.
It’s a walk-in policy: first come, first served! You’ll be able to come and meet tattoo artists practising either the free hand method, where you draw your tattoos freehand on your body, or those offering self-drawn flash tattoos directly on their stands.
Reminder: It is forbidden to tattoo a minor without the written consent of a parent or guardian.
For any tattoo on a person under the age of 18, the presence of a parent or guardian is therefore absolutely required to sign this consent, as well as proof of identity for each of them.

Five universes: discover the engravings by Maud Dardeau, the posters by Guen Douglas, the fantastic illustrations by Isabella Stabile, the tattooed cartoons by Jee Sayalero, and historic of Japanese tattooists in the in the Halle. Find out more in the next few pages.

The Tattoo Market will feature Koji Japon, an antiques dealer furniture, crockery, dolls, kimonos
