« Miss Cape Verde Islands in Europe – Miss Cap-Vert des Îles Europe » is a beauty pageant related to the Cape Verdean community in Europe. The event is organized at a European scale and they are preparing for the 1st edition in 2024. It’s an extravagant showcase of culture, beauty, talent, fashion, and intelligence.

The 1st European edition will be held on March 30, 2024, at Villanova – 1, rue René Legueu – 77124 Villenoy, France1. This prestigious event unites contestants, celebrities, dignitaries, and an international audience from Africa, France, and Europe.

The event includes captivating live performances of music and dance by Cape Verdean and international artists.
Attendees will indulge in delectable Cape Verdean and African cuisine, expertly paired with refreshing drinks and champagne.

By organizing a charity gala to crown the Miss Cape Verde Islands in Europe, we aim to support the Chirurgie Solidaire association, making this event the primary funding source for our joint project.

Our vision is to establish a school for nurse anesthetists in Cape Verde, enhancing the health standards of its residents and fostering the country’s independence.

Gil Semedo Moreira

Gil Semedo Moreira, born on October 25, 1974, is a renowned Cape Verdean singer, songwriter, businessman, and record producer. Under his stage name Gil Semedo, he gained prominence in 1991 with the release of his debut album’s first single, « Menina ».

His musical journey has been marked by a fusion of traditional Cape Verdean music styles—such as Coladeira, Funana, and Batuko—with contemporary genres like zouk, pop, and R&B.

Gil’s unique blend of sounds

Gil’s unique blend of sounds led to the creation of his own music genre known as « Cabo Swing ».

Born in Santiago, Cape Verde, Gil Semedo moved to the Netherlands at the age of six, where he continues to reside. His talent was first recognized when he reached the finals of the Dutch talent TV show “Sound Mix Show” at just fifteen years old. The subsequent release of his debut single, “Menina,” set the stage for his remarkable career in the music industry.

Gil Semedo’s impact extends beyond his artistic achievements. He has sold over a million records, making him one of the most influential celebrities in Portuguese-speaking Africa. His platinum and gold records, featuring hits like “Sweet Honey,” “Maria Julia,” and “Nos líder,” have left an indelible mark on the music scene. Semedo’s dynamic music has inspired countless fans, earning him the title of the ‘King of Pop’ in Cape Verde
